Nioh no Yado

BAIKO About 30 minutes from Ayabe city center (and 90 minutes from Kyoto City)

Located in the Ayabe countryside, about 30 minutes from the city center (and 90 minutes from Kyoto City), BAIKO is a renovated farmhouse with a pickled plum theme. The building used to be used for making umeboshi, Japanese pickled plums, and it is with this in mind that much of the interior design reflects this.

Breakfast is offered at Nioh no Sumika, a restaurant and community space about a 5-10 minute walk down the street from the stay. The area is surrounded by farm fields and mountain forests. Ayabe onsen and their elaborate maze are also a 15-20 minute walk away. The onsen also serves as the entrance to some nice hiking trails that will connect to Komyoji and its National Treasure Niomon Gate. ... more information
